Arseniy and Ksenia have always shared a deep love for Italy, leaving no doubt that their wedding would take place here, on the shores of one of the country’s most breathtaking locations: Lake Como. To ensure an authentic and legally recognised union, they chose to host their civil ceremony at one of the lake’s exclusive, officially approved heritage venues.
The Planning Journey
The couple reached out to us several months prior to the big day, sparking a wonderful and continuous conversation about every element of their celebration. Ksenia took a joyful and highly active role in the planning. For the couple, much of this was a first-time experience, and we guided them step by step—from seamlessly navigating the legal paperwork required for a civil marriage in Italy, to curating guest entertainment, choosing picturesque locations for portraits, designing a flawless timeline, and selecting the perfect wedding menu.
The fairytale landscapes, gentle Italian climate, exquisite local cuisine, and the warmth of the locals added vibrant colour and a joyful atmosphere to the days they spent by the lake.
The Ceremony at Villa Monastero
The stunning Villa Monastero in Varenna was chosen for the civil registration, utterly captivating the couple and their guests with its botanical gardens and architectural elegance. The touching ceremony unfolded on the villa’s terrace, accompanied by the delicate, romantic melodies of a live harp.The Mayor of Varenna led the official proceedings. After reading the articles of the Italian Civil Code and the rights and duties of marriage, the Mayor asked the most anticipated question of the day. It was, undoubtedly, the most moving and poignant moment of the celebration when Arseniy and Ksenia exchanged their long-awaited “I do”s. They shared personal vows written just for one another—words that overflowed with love, tenderness, and shared dreams for their future together.
A Scenic Cruise and Bellagio Portraits
Following a beautiful portrait session at Villa Monastero, the wedding party boarded a classic boat for a private cruise across the water, enjoying a refined on-board aperitivo. The cruise included a stop at a magnificent villa in Bellagio; the scenery was simply too breathtaking to resist capturing a few more editorial-style portraits.
As evening fell, the close-knit group gathered at an elegant lakeside restaurant. There, overlooking the twilight waters, they celebrated with a spectacular wedding dinner. It was a long, beautiful, and deeply joyous day, filled with authentic emotion and surrounded by those who mattered most.
