AN ORTHODOX CROWNING IN TURIN: ELENA & IVAN

Elena and Ivan approached us with a beautiful and deeply personal request: to organise an Orthodox wedding ceremony in Northern Italy. As avid travellers, they had long dreamt of exploring the rich landscapes of Piedmont and Liguria. This particular journey held a profound meaning, serving as a second honeymoon to celebrate their ‘crystal’ anniversary—fifteen years of marriage.

Fifteen years is a remarkable milestone. Yet, upon meeting Elena and Ivan, one could easily mistake them for newlyweds. They look at one another with such tenderness and devotion, treating each other with the same radiant love as on the very first day of their lives together. Their relationship has weathered the passages of time, not merely enduring over the past fifteen years, but growing ever stronger. To honour this enduring bond, they chose to crown their special date with the sacred rite of an Orthodox marriage.

The couple felt an immediate connection to the magnificent Orthodox church in Turin. They were welcomed with immense warmth by Father Ambrogio, who thoughtfully conducted the poignant ceremony in their native Russian. It was an incredibly moving and beautiful service—a true celebration of the Sacrament of Crowning.
