Wedding in Piedmont, Italy

Alina and Ivan, a couple from Moscow, wanted their wedding day to be original and unforgettable — and chose romantic Italy for their celebration. As they say locally, “From Russia with Love to the Langhe.” Planning a spring wedding in 2013, they travelled to Piedmont on holiday to find the perfect setting for their special day. They ultimately selected a beautiful countryside hotel perched on a high hill in the Langhe — once an ancient monastery — as the venue for their ceremony, reception and evening party, complete with panoramic views over the vineyards.

Within the former monastery stands a small historic chapel, characteristic of the period, perfectly suited to civil or symbolic ceremonies. Alina and Ivan chose a fully personalised symbolic ceremony, conducted entirely in Russian by our native‑speaking ceremony master. Alina was accompanied to the aisle by her father, with the maid of honour and a young page by her side. The couple and their thirty guests enjoyed an intimate, romantic wedding in this atmospheric monastery, followed by a sun‑kissed holiday in Italy.

Styling & Colour Palette

The wedding design embraced soft pink and lilac tones that blended seamlessly with the landscape and interiors: rich shades of rose paired with gentle lavender‑violet accents. Alina’s bouquet — light pink peonies with small violet blooms — harmonised beautifully with the overall aesthetic, which was echoed in the table styling and floral décor.

A Taste of Piedmont

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an elegant aperitivo featuring local gastronomic specialities, while the newlyweds slipped away for a short stroll through the village surrounding the former monastery. A refined wedding lunch followed in a cosy, sophisticated atmosphere, with a menu of traditional Piedmontese dishes paired with outstanding local wines, including Barbaresco and Dolcetto. The evening continued with the wedding cake and dancing until dawn.
