An Anglican blessing on Lake Como combines sacred tradition with the lake’s serene beauty—stone churches, soft light on the water, and music that carries through ancient naves.
An Anglican blessing is a religious service that celebrates your marriage with prayers, readings, and a nuptial blessing. It does not create a civil marriage under Italian law—many couples complete the legal paperwork at home, then hold the blessing on Lake Como with family and friends. The service can follow the Book of Common Prayer or Common Worship structure and can be tailored with hymns, readings, and personal vows where permitted.

• Historic Anglican and English‑speaking congregations that understand international couples.
• Iconic lake and mountain settings for portraits just moments from the church.
• Refined hospitality: elegant boats, terraced villas for receptions, and excellent hotels.
• Excellent access from Milan airports and rail links to Como.

The Church welcomes couples from any Christian tradition who wish to celebrate their marriage with an English‑language service of blessing or a renewal of vows. While the Church of England has no jurisdiction to conduct legal marriages in Italy, couples are warmly invited to have their civil marriage blessed at the Church of the Ascension on Lake Como.

This wedding blessing closely reflects the Anglican marriage service. It offers a sacred moment of commitment and thanksgiving—celebrated with family and friends in the presence of God in a place of Christian worship.

With the agreement of our bishop and priest‑in‑charge, it may be possible to use the church with a priest from your home parish. In recent years, we have welcomed couples from Eastern Orthodox churches; in such cases, the service may be conducted in the couple’s native language and according to their tradition.
